CACAO REGIONS IN TANZANIA

 CACAO REGIONS IN TANZANIA.

In Tanzania, cacao can be grown in the regions such as Mbeya, Morogoro, Kigoma, Katavi, Tabora, Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Pwani, Iringa, Njombe, Ruvuma, Mtwara, Geita, and Kagera.

Cacao is a tropical cash crop, which grows and can be grown in many regions as mentioned above, dedicated Tanzanian farmers are currently highly encouraged to plant cacao trees in their mini farms and plantations for the sake of feeding the rising Cacao and Chocolate industries inside the country and some seeds for exportation to European Cacao and Chocolate industries.

Farmers who wish to plant cacao must adopt organic practices, which prove to be the best, cheap in terms of cost (affordable), healthy and sustain the present and the future generations.

This blog will always provide useful information about cacao farming hints.

CACAO FARMING IN URBAN AREAS

 CACAO FARMING IN URBAN AREAS

Cacao trees are not only grown in rural areas as so many people think about, your backyard land can be suitable for some 3+ cacao trees, and you will be registered as the cacao farmer with the minimum of three planted seedlings.

Cacao is termed as the cash crop since the ancient periods of time and still is providing some economic benefits nowadays for the farmers in rural and to those who have dared to plant some cacao on their backyard land in urban areas.

The tree has been improving the livelihood of so many families who are direct or indirectly engaging in this kind of tree farming.

We are inviting people to this wonderful experience.

You may join the project by planting at least the minimum of three cacao trees on your backyard piece of land.

YOUTH AND CACAO FARMING IN TROPICAL REGIONS

YOUTH AND CACAO FARMING IN TROPICAL REGIONS.

Cacao trees farming is among of the best option for Tanzanians and young farmers found all around the tropical regions on our earth.

Many young farmers are not willing to undertake long term trees farming because the economic results of planting trees takes years, this has been the cause for many young farmers to despise trees farming and start planting short term crops.

Cacao are fastest growing up trees which takes two years and a half to three years for a farmer to start harvesting and it takes five years to experience regularly (the interval of three weeks throughout the year) harvest of cacao.

If young farmers decide to plant cacao trees it will not only benefit them economically for a year but for the years while sustaining the environment for the up coming generations.

ORGANIC PESTICIDES TO TREAT CACAO TREES

ORGANIC PESTICIDES TO TREAT CACAO    TREES.

Some seedlings have been affected by bacteria, funguses and ants are laying their eggs on leaves, to treat all these kinds of affection as the first aid to the seedlings we use the grinded mixture of moringa oleifera, neem and aloevera.

After grinding the combination of neem, aloevera and moringa oleifera then we spray on seedlings.

FRESH SEEDS FOR ORGANIC SEEDLINGS

FRESH SEEDS FOR ORGANIC SEEDLINGS

Cacao germinate when the seeds are still fresh and wet, the harvested cacao pods are being broken up to get the average of fourty to sixty seeds that will be planted into plastic tree lids (viriba) for the wait of two up to three months before planting permanently on land.

Organic Cacao Farming Project members are preparing  and taking care of the seedlings day to day to make it available for backyard, smallscale  and plantation growers.

MANURE AND CACAO SEEDLINGS.

            MANURE AND CACAO SEEDLINGS

The Organic Cacao Farming Project is using manure especially derived from animal feces (cattle/ng'ombe) added in a plastic bags of soil few days after the cacao beans has been sprout out for better and positive growth.

The Project intends to use natural methods of cacao farming from the first stage of nursery up to its maturity just to reduce the harm and negative effects to cacao consumers.

The Project also plan to reduce and eliminate the usage of industrial fertilizers and chemicals when growing cacao, as the artificial fertilizers and chemicals to large extent harm the soil, the plant and consumers.

As long as in tropical areas there are varieties of wild plants and weeds which are normally used to kill harmful bacteria and protect the plants from bad diseases which are likely to disturb growth of cacao, for that reason we found out that there's no need of using harmful industrial chemicals.

We are doing all these organic practices for the sake of protecting the health of our consumers and our environment.

THE AMAZING GERMINATION OF CACAO BEANS

THE AMAZING GERMINATION OF CACAO BEANS.

It is very wonderful and fascinating activities to experience the early germination of the cacao bean, clearly the color of the bean resemble the processed chocolate.
From this lovely stage, it will take not more than four days until the first shoot to break the bean and come out for sun rays to aid healthy photosynthetic growth.
One may not believe that the seedling above will take three years to  be the firstly harvested. It seems to be too long, but the period is real too short for one to get the harvest.
Organic Cacao Farming Project is working tirelessly to make sure seedlings grow healthly. The seedlings will be available for all farmers in rural and urban areas.
