PROBLEMS FACING EARLY CACAO TREE NURSERY
PROBLEMS FACING EARLY CACAO TREE NURSERY.
Failure to germinate when the cacao seeds have been covered up by the soil, this is influenced by poor seed viability. If the cacao seeds lose viability, the germination will not occur.
Some insects like grasshoppers tends to eat and cut young cacao stems, this obvious happens after the cacao seeds have been succcessed to germinate, this situation is accelerated by the weakness and softness of cacao seedling stems which attract insects. See the picture below.
Inability of the cacao bean to sprout from the soil, cacao seeds may undergo germination and develop roots in the soil but will fail to let the bean out of the soil, this can be caused by overloading of seeds covering soil during sowing of seeds in plastic bags. See the picture below.
Failure of the cacao been to divide itself into two parts to allow the growing of the leaves, cacao seeds which have poor viability qualities faces this problem. See the picture below.
The strong direct sun rays that reach to the first young cacao leaves, the direct leaf exposure to the sunlight makes young leaves to dry in the cacao nursery. See the picture below.
When managing cacao trees nursery the above challenges are likely to happen, but a farmer is advised to replant.

CACAO REGIONS IN TANZANIA
CACAO REGIONS IN TANZANIA.
In Tanzania, cacao can be grown in the regions such as Mbeya, Morogoro, Kigoma, Katavi, Tabora, Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Pwani, Iringa, Njombe, Ruvuma, Mtwara, Geita, and Kagera.
Cacao is a tropical cash crop, which grows and can be grown in many regions as mentioned above, dedicated Tanzanian farmers are currently highly encouraged to plant cacao trees in their mini farms and plantations for the sake of feeding the rising Cacao and Chocolate industries inside the country and some seeds for exportation to European Cacao and Chocolate industries.
Farmers who wish to plant cacao must adopt organic practices, which prove to be the best, cheap in terms of cost (affordable), healthy and sustain the present and the future generations.
This blog will always provide useful information about cacao farming hints.

Cacao trees are not only grown in rural areas as so many people think about, your backyard land can be suitable for some 3+ cacao trees, and you will be registered as the cacao farmer with the minimum of three planted seedlings.
Cacao is termed as the cash crop since the ancient periods of time and still is providing some economic benefits nowadays for the farmers in rural and to those who have dared to plant some cacao on their backyard land in urban areas.
The tree has been improving the livelihood of so many families who are direct or indirectly engaging in this kind of tree farming.
We are inviting people to this wonderful experience.
You may join the project by planting at least the minimum of three cacao trees on your backyard piece of land.
YOUTH AND CACAO FARMING IN TROPICAL REGIONS
YOUTH AND CACAO FARMING IN TROPICAL REGIONS.
Cacao trees farming is among of the best option for Tanzanians and young farmers found all around the tropical regions on our earth.
Many young farmers are not willing to undertake long term trees farming because the economic results of planting trees takes years, this has been the cause for many young farmers to despise trees farming and start planting short term crops.
Cacao are fastest growing up trees which takes two years and a half to three years for a farmer to start harvesting and it takes five years to experience regularly (the interval of three weeks throughout the year) harvest of cacao.
If young farmers decide to plant cacao trees it will not only benefit them economically for a year but for the years while sustaining the environment for the up coming generations.
ORGANIC PESTICIDES TO TREAT CACAO TREES
ORGANIC PESTICIDES TO TREAT CACAO TREES.
Some seedlings have been affected by bacteria, funguses and ants are laying their eggs on leaves, to treat all these kinds of affection as the first aid to the seedlings we use the grinded mixture of moringa oleifera, neem and aloevera.
After grinding the combination of neem, aloevera and moringa oleifera then we spray on seedlings.
